The Scriptures reveal the Trinity, making known the Father as invisible, the Son manifest in the flesh as Saviour, the Holy Spirit as actively implementing the purpose and will of God in the world. Why did the Christians come to believe in the Trinity? They came to believe in the Trinity for three major reasons: They recognized the Father as God; they recognized the Son as God; and they recognized the Holy Spirit as God.

1. They recognized the Father as God.

From Genesis 1:1, where it gives credit to God for His creating the heavens and the earth to Malachi, who gives honor to the God of Israel, the Father has been recognized as God. The New Testament is permeated with faith in God the Father. Because of this, we will not spend more time to discuss this recognition.

2. They recognized the Son as God. Write the verses that prove that Jesus Christ is God.
